I think your printer has postscript so try downloading the universal  postscript driver.

Hello,

I have downloaded the driver:

HP Universal Print Driver Series for WindowsHP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit)Windows 10 : 64-bit19.2 MBupd-ps-x64-6.4.1.22169.exe

But when I installed it, the test page wouldn't print, I changed the driver to the Laserjet 4000 PCL5 and that was the same.

Due to the printer having a serial connection, I have had to use a serial connector adapter to USB as my computer doesn't have a serial port. So I am hard wired from the printer to the computer.

Regards

Rod

Most times when this happens the issue is the usb adapter you are using. Getting parallel to usb adapters to work under windows 10 can be difficult.  Your printer is the N model which means you have a network card which I think you mentioned above. Suggest you connect the printer using ethernet to your router or switch, perform a cold reset by holding down the green button while powering on. When the display says cold reset release and when the printer comes to ready, wait about 2 minutes and then print out the config pages. The second page will have the ip address of the printer and use it to load the printer as a local tcp/ip printer.

Hello davidzuts,

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Absolutely brilliant for leading me through this.

All is well on the printer front, and I am indebted to you for your input.

Thanks again,
