Just got this message in my control panel display "Firmware Corrupt Error Ready 2 Download"
from other archived forum...someone suggest to:
-Plug directly to wall power outlet
...already done this things...nothing worked!
Could anyone suggest other solution, aside from replacing the formatter board?

If the printer botched a firmware update and does not come with an HP Hard Drive installed then you are out of luck.
The only way to fix a bad firmware update is to swap the formatter or reload the firmware from a USB drive if your printer can boot far enough to access that menu (again, only if your printer has a HD. HP has made newer models store firmware on the HD instead of the formatter memory to give us more options in these scenarios).

Try to resend firmware through USB port and that's the only way to save it back.
If it fails then you need to have the formatter replaced.
When sending firmware you need have 1536 driver installed and don't forget to change the connected port from Lan to usb.
If it's connected correctly you'll see firmware updating processing on the control panel.
If there's nothing happened on the panel then you need to try to change the usb connected port from usb001 to 002 003 004.... if there're such many on your menu list. You need to try one after the other until you see the processing procedure.
After it's done 1536 will reboot all by itself.
If it works it works if it's not then you need to have the formatter replaced.
When trying usb port from 001 to 0xx there's no need to resend firmware again and again.
You just need to send it once never need two.

This is a genius solution!!!
I followed your instruction...and finally on the 3rd usb port on printer properties...firmware loading got thru.
My printer now is in Ready state...and fully working. Test all Print-Copy-Scan...all working!!!
Again...thank you so much!!!
