HP Laserjet Pro MFP M225dw is stuck on Initializing. please send me reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.Thank

If your printer cannot fully initialize then you may not be able to get to the part where you can perform a higher level reset like NVRAM or COLD reset.

 

You might want to call HP about this one if you have warranty on the printer.  If not then call it into an HP repair shop for a quote as a part may need to be replaced.

Here are the reset steps:

 

  • For Printer that has Touch control panel Bundled
    1. Turn off the device.
    2. Press and hold the lower right quadrant of the touch screen, keep the quadrant depressed as you turn the product on.
    3. When the ‘Permanent Storage Init.’ Message appears on the display, release the button.
    4. Turn off the device
    5. Press and hold the Right -arrow + Cancel (X) button, keep the button depressed as you turn the product on
    6. When the ‘Permanent Storage Init.’ Message appears on the display, release the button.

SUPER NVRAM Reset

  • For Printer that has Touch control panel Bundled

    For Printer that has LCD panel Bundled

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the lower left quadrant of the touch screen, keep the quadrant depressed as you turn the product on.
  • When the ‘Permanent Storage Init.’ Message appears on the display, release the button
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Left -arrow + Cancel (X) button, keep the button quadrant depressed as you turn the product on.
  • When the ‘Permanent Storage Init.’ Message appears on the display, release the button

 

However there other suggestions posted that might work for you too:

Here is what worked for me:

Turn printer on

gets stuck on initalized

leave the printer on, remove the toner cartridge

close machine

push place on screen where the home icon is (even though it isn't illuminated)

screen goes to main menu

reinsert toner cartridge

machine works fine after that

Oh i see, the steps did not format correctly when copied over.

 

Here is all you need:

For Printer that has Touch control panel Bundled

  1. Turn off the device.

  4. Wait for the printer to reboot

I restarted but always remains on init
