Product: HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

New HP-brand magenta toner cartridge caused horizontal streaking across paper.  Inspection of cartridge revealed that toner was not evenly distributed in cartridge.  I have sent for a replacement.  Question: Is there any way the printer hardware could damage the toner cartridge?  (The "calibrate" function did not solve the problem.)

Unlikely that hardware would damage the cartridge. Failures do  happen, even to branded products.

Thanks for getting back to me.  After the new toner cartridge arrives I'll report on whether it solves the problem.
