Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can't enter the service menu to reset the device to factory default because my client doesn't know the password.

@GIOA Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you need assistance in resetting the password on your printer,

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you able to copy using the printer?

Please click here for the user guide of your printer.

Follow the reset procedure mentioned on page number 100 in the user guide.

This would restore the printer to factory defaults.

1. On the product control panel, touch the Setup button.

2. Scroll to and touch the Service menu.

3. Scroll to and touch the Restore Defaults button, and then touch the OK button.

The product automatically restarts.

let me know how that pans out,

And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!

Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,

@GIOA

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps!
