How to force an "advanced" driver for network connected printer (W10)

Hello,

I've recently obtained an HP Laserjet 2600n printer.

I've used this printer in the past and I liked it, so I figured let's get another one.

However I'm stuck with a problem. When I connect to the printer using a network connection, it forces a "basic" version of a driver to be used. When I connect to it using USB, it uses an "advanced" version, which is the same version I am used from running on network with my old printer (which is still running at my parents house). This gives plenty more options in the Properties window when I set up advanced printing options. Contains 5 tabs and HP logo, and lets me set up things like different first page, paper type, watermarks... Also, crucially, allows for printer managed manual duplex, which works extremely well. 
When I connect with network, the "basic" driver only gives me layout, paper size and color, in two tabs, no HP logo. Also no printer managed duplex, only Windows manual duplex, which outright sucks (at best, it's set up for small cheap no-tray insert-paper desk printers...)

How can I force Windows to use the advanced driver for network printer as well? 
I know it can be done as that is what I have done previously...

Use the instance that works and edit the driver to use a standard TCP/IP port that is configured to the Ip address of the printer. You will likely need to have the USB connected when you do this and once you have changed the port, unplug the USB and plug in the network cable. On your computer go to devices and printers,  right click the icon for your printer and in the drop down menu select printer properties. Then click the port tab and add new port.
