First time set up on an enterprise printer. Need to lock down touch screen so students can not change settings. How is this done?

All the tools to do so are in the EWS. You can also hide any menu items/icons that you don't want your students to have access to.

Hi Mean1,

You can use the EWS (Embedded Web Server) and setup a password for guests or admins to use the touch panel of the printer. Then only those who know the password and sign in can use it via the touch panel. Do not forget to sign out afterwards, although this is done automatically after several minutes.

Another idea is to use a NFC card (Near Field Communication), but this implementation requires a third party hardware and software. Only those who have that card and use it near the HIP of the printer can have access to it.

I hope some of these may help,

Cheers!

That did not work.  Anybody else have an idea how to lock down the touch screen on the HP LJ Enterprise M806dn?  We do not want the students changing settings, which they try to do all the time.

I have EWS turned on but do not see any options on any screen about locking down the physical screen on the printer so students cannot access it without a password.  This is on an HP Color LaserJet 452dn.

Help?  Thanks.
