Hi,
I'm trying to find out if the HP LaserJet toner cartridges (specifically for the M176n) are region locked. We are hoping to include/ship these printers with the product our company but, as they will be going to many different regions, we need to make sure the local replacement toner will be compatible.
I know that the inket printer cartridges are region-specific/locked such that take a printer from one region to another the local cartridges will not be accepted. The region for the cartridges seems to be indicated in the last digit of the full model number. For the laser toner the region digit isn't there in the full model numbers which suggests the toner cartridges aren't region-specific.
Could you please advise if the toner cartridges for the M176n are region-specific or not?
Thanks in advance,
Simon

Hi Simon,
Laserjet printers are not region seperated, the same toner cartridge available as long as the product or similar product available in the same country.
Additionally, consider that Laser printers require either 110V or 220V, a printer purchased in Europe as example require 220V and cannot be used on the USA.
While most ink printers use seperate ink cartridge, it does not apply to all pritners.
Officejet Pro Printers use the same ink worldwide. such as the HP Officejet Pro 6830 or 8610 as example.

Thanks Shlomi,
That's great to know. Yes, we're aware of the different voltage models but it's a good point. In our case (in our product) we'll always have 220V-240V power input. We do need to support 50 & 60Hz but the 220V model supports that so the electrical side is covered.
Thanks again!
