Is there a way to talk to a live HP support person, either by chat or phone? I can't find a phone number. The virtual chat rejects my because my product is out of warranty. I will even pay HP for help. Ready to junk my HP printer and buy a different brand because I can't get help.

HP Support does not provide free out-of-warranty phone or chat support.

That said,

Request for an Assist

  • I will submit a request that someone take a look.

Worth Noting

  • Our Community is not HP Technical Support, nor are we HP Sales or HP Service.
  • Our request for assistance on your behalf does not influence the outcome:  Our request is not a magic back door into HP Support.
  • The time frame (how long it takes) for a response is not controlled by the Community.
  • If / When there is a response, a Community moderator / agent will (should) post back on this thread before using other methods to contact you.

Note to those reading:

  • Do not contact random numbers posted in a public or private message by “new members”.  Vermin are looking for victims – don’t be next.
  • Please do not post any personal or case information here - we cannot make use of the data.
  • Posting personal information at a public site increases your risk from rats and scammers.

Never, ever respond to a "new member" posing as support via email or phone.

If anyone, ever, from this Community, manages to trick you enough that you do respond,

As soon as the rat asks for money, hang up - remove yourself - block further communication.

How do I do "Request for an Assist? It does not seem to be a live link?

I am trying to connect a wired printer (connected to my wifi) to my PC (connected to internet my Ethernet cable). I have used the HP Print and Scan Doctor, etc. with no luck. Spent about 8 hours trying to connect my HP printer to my HP PC. Very frustrated.

Typo above, that should be a wireless printer, not a wired printer sorry

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I submitted a request for an agent to get back to you.  I will change the wording of my message so it is not confusing.

Our community is not a direct link to HP Support.

Should an agent respond, you will be given additional information.

If you want to try and contact HP Support directly, you must (like the rest of us) submit a case to HP Support.

It is true that getting through the submission process for a product not in Warranty can be more difficult.

Hence my request.

NOTE

You can also try using HP Support on Facebook (link below).

If you change your mind, you can create a new post, explain the issue you are facing, and ask for help from our volunteer workforce.

Important:  Our Community does not provide support via email, phone, or chat - we use the posting format you are using now.
