Issues with HP MFP M479

We have been having issues with our two new HP MFP M479 printers. We recently had HP MFP M477 which did not give us any issues with the connection. 

 

Currently with the HP MFP M479 printer connected to our network and a user tries to scan (via HP Scan Desktop Application) it gives an error message that it cannot communicate to the printer. I tried rebooting but the issue still occurs. I am able to ping the printer, and print to the printer using the same computer. I tried the HP Scan doctor application, but it gave me a Out of Paper message which does not make any sense. I then tried to use the Webscan via the IP Address it works fine. Is there an issue with the HP Scan desktop application?

 

Another issue with a different HP MFP M479 printer was that when a document was sent out to the printer it would display printing but nothing would be printing, we waited 5mins. Then we pressed the power button on the printer and it displayed Shutting Down but this message was also being displayed for at least 5 minutes and the printer did not shut down. We unplugged the printer from the back and then turned it back on and it started working again. Any reason for this?
