I get this Failure error 49.ff04 every day on my printer.  I need to turn off and on.  What can I do to fix this?

If the error is not caused by a print job then your first effort would be to update the firmware on the printer.

If a firmware update does not resolve the issue then the problem could be a defective formatter.

How do I update the firmware on my printer?

What do I do if I have a defective formatter?

Go to the support page for your machine on hp.com and look for software and Driver updates and you should be able to find a firmware update if there is one.

If you have a defective formatter and the machine is in warranty you let HP take care of it if not you have to replace it.
