LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw color MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got a new router (Netgear Nighthawk AX12 RAX120, which is supposed to handle both 2.4 + 5Ghz ) and all my other devices (iphone, garage, skybell, echo, etc) conntect except for my printer (LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw color MFP).  When I try to set it up via my "Wireless Wizard", I see the router but when I put in my passpharse, I get a "Invalid WPA Passpharse" message and it doesn't connect.

I've tried the following:

1. Followed steps in these HP webpages:

https://www8.hp.com/au/en/campaigns/wireless-printing-center/reconfiguring-system-help3.html

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-cm1415-color-multifunction-printer-series/40891...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-cm1415-color-multifunction-printer-series/40891...

2. Updated firmware here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-cm1415-color-multifunction-printer-...

3. Uninstalled & reinstalled all my drivers from the original CD

4. I tried to install drivers from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-cm1415-color-multifunction-printer-...

For some reason I get a "it took too long message" when I try to download the following driver set: HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 Color Multifunction Printer Full software and Drivers

4. Validated that I entered in the write passpharse, including case as i have no issues connecting with any other one of my devices, as previously stated.

I can't believe it's impossible to connect wirelessly, so can someone please help me?

Thank you.

Are you connecting to the 2.4 or the 5 ghz? The 1415 is old enough I do not think it will support the 5 Ghz channel and you will need to make sure it is on the 2.4. I have not used a nighthawk but my current router allows for different passphrases for both frequencies.

Thank you for your response.  I appreciate the help.

I followed your advice and it appears that I have the same passpharse for both frequencies and my router automatically selects the best frequency.  However, I see multiple security options.  It is selected as WPA-Personal[AES].  Does that have any impact?

Is your firmware up to date on this product. Often there are updates/fixes contained in the firmware, many focused on networking as standards have changed since this model was released.  If the printer supports passphrase should not be a problem.

Thanks for responding so soon.

I updated to the latest firmware that's on this site but that doesn't work. 😞

Any other ideas?

Can anyone point me to a website link where I can get the most updated firmware to help correct this problem?
