I have installed/uninstalled drivers/software and everything I know to do and when I try and scan through the Mac Printers & Scanners link only 2 pages will EVER scan.  When I try and use the HP Smart app, when I click on "scan" within the program the icon just spins.  I'm trying to scan utilizing the document feeder as well, as who wants to scan 15 pages individually.  P.S. Printer works, fax works, network is fine, just scanner only scans 2 pages.

@FrustratedTXN1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Which app are you using to scan?

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

USe HP Easy Scan app or Apple Image capture app to scan from your MAC and check if that helps.

Refer to this document for more info.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

This does not work. I've done all this repeatedly.  I've used the print app within Mac's operating system.  I've also tried HP Smart with no success.

Reinstall the printer on the MAC

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print and scan.

Use HP Easy Scan or Apple Image Capture to scan.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
