Laserjet M1536 DNF
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Computer #1 has the printer installed ont it and do not have any problems.  It is connected via USB.

On Computer #2, install new printer and connect to \\computer#1\HP LJ M1530 and complete the installation.

Print test page with no problems.  Go to Computer #2 the next day and the printer is there but will not print.  Look at printer properties, Ports and it is completely blank.  Have to delete the printer and reinstall to get working.

Any idea why the Ports tab would become blank?  The computers were both on all night long and they are connect to UPS units....  I tried turning off the printer and back on to see if it would continue to print and it did.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated..

No idea but try something different. On the computer that the printer is not connected remove the printer, turn the computer off and then back on. Now reload the printer but for the port use lpt1 and do not use autodetect. When you get to the makers page load the driver and finish up the installation. Now on that computer go to devices and printers and right click and scroll down to the first properties and then click on ports and add port and in the box that comes up put in the port name you had before and apply and save the settings and see if it now holds.
