Laserjet Enterprise M607
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a client who has an Laserjet Enterprise M607 connected directly to a computer via USB.

Yesterday, they experienced a power glitch after a circuit breaker tripped.  Now the computer cannot see the printer via USB.  I hooked up another computer and it also cannot detect the printer via USB.  Tried a different cable also.

I tried connecting an Ethernet cable, but the printer cannot obtain a DHCP IP address.  It's like something is locked-up in the interface card.

Tried a factory reset from the control panel, but no go.

Is there any other way to do a COMPLETE reset of the printer?  Maybe a way to reload the firmware?  Does the factory reset also reset the interface card?  Any advice  is much appreciated!

You can perform a partial clean or full format through the preboot menu. Loom for a PM from me.

Thanks for the reply.  I attempted to do a full format.  According to the instructions I found, it says to "press and hold the HP logo on the screen during startup".  However when I tried this, it didn't work.  It seems to me that the little monitor screen on this printer isn't touch sensitive (?)  Please advise if I am wrong about this.  And what procedure I need to follow to access the full format option.

I agree--it needs a full format.  I've run into problems like this on other printers (lockup after power glitch), and that generally fixes it.

Awaiting your reply.....

The logo only works on touch screens, otherwise it is the cancel key when backlight turns on.
