M1217nfw printing margins
04-04-2019 03:54 AM

Hello everyone,
My printer used to work just fine for years but completely out of the blue (of course there must be a reason but I am not aware) the printer started to add extra margins on the left and bottom of the pages and scaling the print (like 95 or 98%). Just in case I tried printing pdf, jpeg etc. It is the same result, extra blank parts on left and bottom of the page.
The printing setups copy setting and page size on the printer all default, A4 etc. There seems no custom setting.
I even tried uninstalling the software, deleting all temporary files, removing the printer on the control panel and removing from the devices and printers. Then downloaded the up -to-date setup again. Still the same.
I would be more than happy if anyone could help me,
Best regards..

@mildankaya, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Recommend you to check the print settings and print preview before you print. Click here to understand basic settings.
The print out is supposed to come like the way it looks in the print preview.
If the printout is different than the print preview, review the print settings for paper size and margins.
If it is correct, reinstall the printer driver using the method mentioned below.
1)In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Once the uninstallation is complete, you can download and install the latest software from here.
Keep me posted.
Cheers 🙂

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Let me know the outcome.
Cheers 🙂
