HP M281 Color Laserjet
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP LaserJet Pro M281fdw - Tray 2 paper jam.  Paper is not jammed.  Problem is with the pick up of the paper.  Looks like the mechanics of lifting the paper tray up so the roller can pull the paper in is not working.  You can here it running but nothing moves.  You can look inside when the printer starts up.  You hear the motors/fans running but the tray never trys to lift up.

I do not have a print, manual or pictures to help diagnose any further.  [edit] Thanks.

Welcome to HP support community.

Print a cleaning page to clean the paper feed and pick rollers

  1. On the home screen of the control panel, swipe left, and then touch the Setup icon.

  2. Swipe down, and then touch Service.

  3. Touch Cleaning Page.

  4. Load plain letter or A4 paper in Tray 1 when the printer prompts you, and then press OK to begin the cleaning process.

  5. Wait until the process is complete, and then recycle the page that prints.
