There is a consistent black line that is on every scan or copy from the auto feeder ADF. I have found a small line of black ink on the glass and have tried everything to remove the ink but it is not coming off. Rubbing alcohol did not remove it. The line continues to show on copies/scans. I need a cleaning alternative to remove the ink from the glass.

some chemicals can be bad for the glass , especially over time. That being said , i have used INK BE GONE in hard to remove cases. it is strong.Or even my fingernail to scratch it off some. Usually it is just a dot on the slit glass(about inch wide separate strip of glass by itself , not the flatbed glass), that causes this. When paper is dragged across it by doc feeder , it drags the dot into a line. If you have a line on the slit glass , is it possible it is a crack?

If alcohol does not work then I would try water, or spit.
