MFP M281fdw
Linux

My MFP M281fdw fails to print any document as follows, either:

  - a blank page is ejected, or

  - half the page prints out

The display on the printer reports:

Print Failure, If error repeats turn off and then on. Press OK to continue

The printer log reports:

  Error 21.0000 (Page too complex)

This happens when I try to print wirelessly, via wired Ethernet, from USB or print a status page from the menu (e.g. Supplies Status); I get the same symptom from Ubuntu Linux, Android phone or Apple iPad Pro.

I have cycled the power (as suggested on the display) and pulled the plug/restarted but nothing changes the fault state.

I would be grateful for any advice

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to copy?

Are you using the HP Smart App on your Android phone, if yes, uninstall and reinstall the App and then try printing.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
