I have a problem with a customers MFP M477fdw.
The toner does not burn properly to the paper.
I have changed the toner ond uppgraded the firmware.
I guessing It's the fuser causing the problem, but i wondered if it could be fixed without changing the fuser unit.
The total counter is: 1984 black/white and 8340 color prints.

Are you getting any error codes. Can you post a sample. Is your firmware up to date?

The problem you are seeing is called ghosting, where a latent image is reapplied to the page further down. This can caused by a combination of heavy media and very dense toner application causing incomplete fusing of toner to page. I would suggest you try setting the paper type to heavy or letterhead to see if that helps with the problem. This may result in the printer pausing and asking you to confirm before printing, but if it works, then you can simply adjust the default paper type in the print driver to match what you set on the printer. If changing paper types does not fix the problem, then it is possible that you have a failing or weak fuser. This type of defect is 99% of the time a fusing issue.
