When printing a word document the background which is suppose to be white, is printing magenta.  I have not found any reason for this in my settings, but maybe there is something I am missing.  I put the new HP cartridge in, a few weeks ago and then this started to happen.

The ink is a bit expensive for this amount of waste.  Granted, almost everything we print out is a waste.

Has anyone out there had this particular problem?

Is this only with word documents or all printing? If all printing and started after a cartridge change that would suggest a faulty cartridge. You can try copying a blank piece of paper to see if that comes out with a magenta background, this would confirm the problem rests with either the magenta cartridge or one of the contacts in the printer that interact with the cartridge.
