MFP M281cdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My MFP M281cdw stopped printing on my laptop, but is fine for others in the household apparently.  Only me.  My laptop printers and scanners settings lists the wireless printers, but lists them as "Driver is unavailable".  Now, my M225dw works fine and is associated with a second entry that is listed as "1 Downstairs HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225-M226 PCL 6".  The M281cdw  print queue indicates Error on each document sent over to it.  It will still scan using the HP Smart app.  I have removed the device and reinstalled a half dozen times this evening.   

 

I have gone through Virtual assistant.  I have run the HP Print and Scan Doctor a couple of times.  Please help me get this reconnected and ready to print.

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

 

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

 

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy and check.

Sorry to report...No success with this approach.  

 

All other laptops, phones, and tablets work fine.  

 

My laptop will scan using the HP Smart program, but cannot print to it.  My laptop will print to my other wireless HP MFP unit downstairs.  Not the M281.  I do not get it.  

 

I have removed the device and reinstalled the device a couple or three times.  No improvement.

Can you please open the file you want to print, open the print dialog and expend the printers list, then take a screenshot of the screen and add it to your reply? among the selected printer and any other available print queue.

The printer and laptop sued to get along great.  Then all of a sudden, they do not.
