My Mac Book Air connected via Airprint, the Printer screen says printing, but nothing happening

Laser Jet Pro MFP M148fdw
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

My Mac Book Air is wirelessly connected to my Laser Jet Pro MFP M148fdw via AirPrint and reports the document is printing.

The screen on the printer says the document is printing.

Nothing is happening -- no printing is occurring even after waiting 15 minutes.

What could the problem be?

The printer was working fine about 12 hours ago. The printer is no reporting any error, there's plenty of paper and ink.

Please help. I've tried everything I could think of.

Best, Jason

I went to this page:   https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

and eventually ended up directed to this page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m148-m149-series/21996897

I was preventing from installing all available updates, as one was .exe and thus only for Windows, but i downloaded the new driver called EasyStart -- see here:

One installed, I had to change various permissions, but eventually the printer began actually printing.
