I bought a second hand M118DW.  I can not connect wirelessly.  I do not have the admin password.  It is required to access any of the wireless configuration.  How do I reset this printer to the factory default?

I gave this printer away yesterday.  However, I have sent the information to my friend and asked them to let me know if it works.  If all else fails the good news is there are still 7 months on the warranty.  Reviewing the config page from the printer indicated someone had removed all of the 802.11xx connectivity.  With out the admin password, I could not fix it.  The reset should fix the issue provided that was the problem.  Direct wireless print worked, but it could not be set up wirelessly on the network.   Thank you for the information.  I hope it works.

@TeeSq, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Let me know how this goes.
