Hi,

I recently purchased an HP LaserJet MFP M235sdw, and while troubleshooting a connection issue with the HP website, I disabled HP Web Services. Now I no longer see an option to re-enable it in the HP Smart app or through the printer’s IP interface. How can I turn HP Web Services back on?

Hi @Maksat001

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details and for already checking the printer’s IP interface. I understand how frustrating it feels when a feature disappears after troubleshooting. Let’s walk through the steps to restore HP Web Services on your HP LaserJet MFP M235sdw:

Step-by-step to re-enable HP Web Services

Reset Web Services via Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Open a browser on your Windows PC.
  • Type your printer’s IP address in the address bar (you can find this on the printer’s control panel or by printing a Network Configuration Page).
  • Navigate to HP Web Services > Web Services Settings.
  • If the “Enable” option is missing, proceed to the next step.

Restore Printer Network Defaults

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset.
  • Wait for the printer to reconnect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Re-access the Embedded Web Server

  • After the network reset, re-enter the printer’s IP address in your browser.
  • Go to HP Web Services > Web Services Settings.
  • The “Enable Web Services” option should now reappear.

Enable Web Services

  • Click Enable Web Services.
  • Follow the prompts to complete setup.
  • Once enabled, the printer will print an information sheet with the printer’s email address and connection status.

Use HP App to Confirm Connection

  • Open the HP App on your Windows PC.
  • Add the printer again if needed.
  • Confirm that Web Services are active and that cloud features (like scan to email or ePrint) are available.

Reference Guide

These steps should restore the Web Services functionality and allow you to use connected features again.

Hello I also have a Web Services issue - in this case I can see the Web Services enable option but it tells me I have an internal processing error and i need to check for firmware updates. How can I do this please, I have a Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477 printer. Thank you
