Product: HP Color Laserjet pro M254dw
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

My printer is temporamental.  It often does not print correctly only printing a single garbled line.  I swith off everything and it works ok a for little and again plays up.  I am on the latest Mac OS

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

There are several reasons if the printer is printing garbled text . Some of the causes are damaged print cartridges, the printer is not connected directly to an outlet, the USB cable is damaged, or the wrong print driver is installed. Try the solutions available in this document.
