I need some recommendations for a printer model that will work well with the pressure sealed 28lb check paper. We had a model M609dn recommended by Capella, but that one started jamming and is not supported according to HP support.

I've been trying to find a model that will work, but am not really sure what I'm looking for on the data sheets and search is not really helping. does anyone have any suggestions?

I got in touch with the folks from Troy group and discovered my issue is a known issue with these models and this paticular type of paper. They provided me with an update alpha version of the firmware which seems to helped this issue. I'm sure HP willl be rolling out some new firmware soon to help anyone else having this.

I don't have any sage advice to offer as to a printer model, but I have to wonder if the paper stock itself isn't the problem, particularly the pressure sensitive adhesive. If the jamming is something that developed over a period of time with your current printer, perhaps there has been a build up of adhesive on printer rollers especially those in the path after the fuser.

Now if your printer has a straight through rear exit, it may be worth trying that to see if the jamming is alleviated.

Also, you might try heating up the adhesive part of the stock with a household iron to see if it gets tacky.
