Officejet Pro 8600 911a

Just changed one color cartridge - brand new, not expired.  Getting error "Printer failure.  There is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn printer off, then on.  If problem persists, cpontact HP."

 

Turned off, then on

Disconnected plugs

Tried another new ink cartridge

 

Stiull getting the error.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

i'd wager the carriage assembly your cartridges snap into is clogged or defective.   with the unit on, open the ink access door and let the printhead/carriage assembly move into position, as if you were going to replace the ink.  unplug the printer from the wall while still on, release the long grey lever you see on the printhead and remove it from the unit.  remove the ink from the printhead. *press the power button again before plugging back in.  take a lint free cloth, soak it w/ some simple green cleaning soap and tap the bottom of the printhead repeatedly onto the cloth.  wipe away any dried up ink that could be blocking the nozzles.  make sure its dry before reinstalling, making sure its seated properly and the lever is re-engaged.  plug back in, power it up and see if that helps any.
