Hello HP Support Team,

I am experiencing a severe startup problem with my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dn.

When powered on, the printer often stays on the “Initializing” screen indefinitely.
A yellow warning triangle and a blinking open circle icon appear in the upper right corner of the display.
Occasionally, the printer reaches the “Ready” state, but it does not respond to any touch inputs or print jobs.

I have already tried:

  • Power cycling and disconnecting the device from the network.

  • Waiting several minutes before reconnecting power.

  • Attempting to access the Preboot Menu (holding the touchscreen at startup), but it does not always appear.

The printer is connected via LAN, not USB or Wi-Fi.

I suspect a firmware corruption or formatter board issue, but I cannot find any available firmware downloads on the HP support website.

Can you please provide or re-enable access to the latest firmware (.RFU) file for this model or/and advise how to perform a firmware recovery via USB in my situation.

Produkt No.: CF386A
Product: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dn

Thank you for your help — this printer is still in good condition, and I would like to restore it if possible, especially since I still have several original HP toner cartridges in stock.

Best regards, Rüdiger Reichelt
