Can I use 67 lb cardstock with the HP LaserJet Pro M254DW. Also, I know it will do duplex printing on this card stock. Any help and/or suggests will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Maria

Hi @Maria35,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you wanted to know if you can use 67 lb cardstock with the HP LaserJet Pro M254DW.
The maximum limit allowed is 51lb for the duplexer.
You may check the specification from the link: Product Specifications
You may also check page no. 18 of the user guide from the link: User Guide
Let me know if this works.
You have a good day ahead.

I'm very disappointed in HP with the 8720 printer not being able to print on Cardstock. With earlier HP printers I've had, this was a viable option. Unfortunately I'm too far into the ownership of the 8720 to return it. I'll need to look for other alternatives whenever I need to print on Cardstock.

The problem with specifying "51 lb" is as the maximum "weight" for duplexing is that the basis weight for a given paper stock does not necessarily correspond to the thickness (the caliper) of that paper. The specification of "51 lb" is probably meant to indicate a caliper for cover stock, which is 0.007". A basis weight of 51 lb for bond ("printer/copier") paper equates to a caliper of 0.008", and 51 lb card stock is (typically) 0.005".
And just to keep it interesting, there's the degree of calendaring to consider. Calendaring produces a smoother and shinier surface and squeezes the caliper, making the paper thinner and somewhat glossier. More calendaring, which is done on cover and card stock, produces a more slippery surface that can be more difficult for a printer to feed, and makes the paper more prone to curl, especially when heated and then rolled through a tightly curved feed path — as the M254 does.
The best way to duplex on card stock with the M254 is probably to do it manually. I haven't (yet) tried running anything heavier than 32# on my M254.
