Prints poorly (too light) near right border

HP Recommended
Color Laserjet Pro MFP M277dw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My printer is about 8 months old and still has the original HP Laserjet toner cartriges. I've taken all of them out and shaken them to redistribute the toner. (didn't help) The printer and PC are on a WLAN network.

On the first text page, 5 or 6 lines are printed too light withing 1 - 2 inches of the right paper edge. The next 5 - 6 lines are printed correctly, followed by another 5  - 6 lines that are printed poorly as described above. This pattern repeats itsself throughout the page.

On the second page the number of poorly printed lines decreases but after 5 or 6 pages there are still 3 - 4 lines that print too light close to the right paper edge followed by 6 - 8 lines that print correctly, etc. etc.

With the exception of the right border problem the rest of the text document prints as expected.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

If the printing is in black and white only I would first replace the black toner cartridge.

I think you've made a good point here. Upon closer examination I note that color prints just fine but the black does not near the right border.

For some reason the black toner is apparently not coming out of the cartridge properly, I'll get a new black cartridge and give it a try.

Thanks for your help.
