I have a HP M277 laser jet printer and I need the default password for the wifi. I've read through multiple post and although I commend them for their literary verbosity, not one of the **bleep** things gives a simple succinct answer to the questions. I just need to know what the default password is and if there isn't one, I just need you to say, "there isn't one", not, " I see you have an HP M277 LJ printer my name is Mike and I would really like to help you, blah, blah, blah......just answer the **bleep** question, I have stuff to do!!!
Thanks,
Pat

Hello, @Phaskell – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!
I see that you are having issues while setting up the printer over the network. First off, there is no default password for the printer. You need to connect the printer to the home network and then install the printer on your PC. You can easily connect the printer to the network by following steps:
-
On the printer control panel, touch the Connection Information icon (the icon might appear as Wired (
) or Wireless (
) depending on your current setup), and then touch Wireless Menu.
-
Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
The printer searches for available wireless networks.
-
Touch the name of your network, and then follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network. If it is asking for a password, please enter the home network password.
-
Check http://hp.care/2pyss1C for detailed instructions.
Once done, go to http://hp.care/2psbT2D to download and install the printer drivers. If you have any difficulties, please reply with the PC operating system details and also let me know the result of the above steps.
That should do the trick, let me know the outcome!
Good luck 🙂
