HP LaserJet CP1025nw
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I upgraded operating systems on my macbook pro to MacOS Mojave (Version 10.14.2).  Afterwards, I am unable to print?  Everytime I print a document, the message comes up saying "Stopped - 'Filter' failed.  in printer queue.  I tried pretty much everything and reset the printer as well.  Nothing seems to work?

A warm welcome to HP Community!

As per this document, HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Pinter is not supported with macOS 10.14 Mojave. HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Pinter driver for macOS 10.14 Mojave are not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw printer is AirPrint compatible. If the printer is connected to your home WiFi, then you may use the following steps to setup the printer with Apple AirPrint:

Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

6.) Try to print.

You can also try Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

NOTE:

Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately I am still having problems using the printer.  I updated the software and it was working using the Wireless option for a period of time.  When I shut down my macbook and turn it back on... not working again.  I tried the same process and nothing print?  Also, I am not seeing any menu item for AirPrint and tried setting up wireless under Utilities but my WiFi network is not listed?   If I known this will cause a lot of problems, I would not have upgraded to Mojave.  Very frustating,

It looks like the printer is not connected to a wireless network, I believe that's why the AirPrint option is not available. Try the following steps to connect the printer to a wireless network:

I think your latest message got cut off?  Can you re-post your instructions to set up WiFi for the printer?

You are right, somehow the instructions got cut off. You may find the steps in my next post.

Try the following steps to connect the printer to a wireless network:

1. Gather the network name and pass-phrase.

NOTE:

If you do not know your network name and password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.

2. Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the printer , and then to the computer.

3. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.

4. Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

5. Click the name of your printer, and then click Options & Supplies.

6. Click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.

7. Click HTML Config to open the advanced printer settings window.

Example of the HTML Config button in HP Utility

8. Click the Networking tab, and then click Wireless in the left pane.

9. Click 802.11b/g/n Wireless, and then select Enabled from the pop-up menu.

Enabling wireless on the Networking tab in HP Utility

10. Double-click your network name to add it to the Current Network Name field, enter the network pass-phrase, and then click Apply.

  1. Add your network name to the Current Network Name (SSID) field
  2. Enter your network pass-phrase

11. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer.

12. In the Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax window, click the name of your printer, click the minus sign , and then delete the USB-installed printer.

13. Click the plus sign , and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

14. Click the name of your printer with Bonjour as the kind, click the Use or Print Using box, and then AirPrint in the pop-up menu.

15. Click Add to add the printer to the list.

16. Try to print and scan

Keep me posted!

Thank you for the instructions.  I gone up to step 6 but could not find  "HTML Config" to open the advanced printer settings window.  I attached the screenshot.  Is my menu item different?

I believe you can use the Wireless Setup option on the HP Utility to connect the printer to your home WiFi. Click Wireless Setup and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup.

My Wi-Fi is not appearing on the list under network (see attached screenshot).  I also tried entering the Wireless Network Name and Password at the bottom.  It says WiFi have been connected then but printer still does not work?  Do you know why that is?
