Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am trying to set this printer up on my wireless network and when I get to the step that says "Connect the Product" I choose "Allow Wireless Network Setup to retrieve your wireless settings" Then " Retrieve the wireless settings on my computer".  Then after a long period it tells me that it cannot communicate with the device.  What's going on?

Welcome to the HP support community.

Restore factory-settings

1. On the product control panel, press the OK button.

2. Use the arrows buttons to select the Service menu, and then press the OK button.

3. Use the arrows buttons to select the Restore defaults option, and then press the OK button.

4. The product automatically restarts.

Connect the printer to a wireless network using WPS by using the control panel menus

If your wireless router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), this is the simplest way to set up the product on a wireless network.

1. On the front of the product, press the Wireless button. Look at the control panel display to see if the Wireless Menu item has opened. If it has not opened, complete these steps:

a. On the control panel, press the OK button, and select the Network Setup menu.

b. Select the Wireless Menu item.

2. Select the Wi-Fi Protected Setup item.

3. Use one of these methods to complete the setup:

● Pushbutton: Select the Pushbutton option and follow the instructions on the control panel. Establishing the wireless connection can take a few minutes.

● PIN: Select the Generate PIN option. The product generates a unique PIN, which you must type into the wireless router's setup screen.

Establishing the wireless connection can take a few minutes.

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
