HP MFP 277dw

I set up my printer for Wi-Fi direct printing and I configured a password as well. However, when I see the printer on my iPhone listed with the other networks there is no lock icon and I am never prompted for a password. This tells me that anyone within range of my router can print to it. How do I get it to prompt for a password?

That means your network is not secured. You have to fix this. That is MORE concern about your printer.

The Wi-Fi direct password for the HP 277 is not configured on my network it is configured on the printer. So, how is this my network problem.
Since I set up the Wi-Fi direct password on the printer why was I never prompted for the password. It shows up on my iPhone as “unsecured”.
