HP does make POS systems, not sure if they make any interface for the Pro series like the M477. Some of their enterprise models have a a foreign interface connector that allows connection of devices but I am not aware of anything for the M477. You might want to make contact with their retail POS division https://www8.hp.com/ca/en/campaigns/retail-solutions/point-of-sale.html

The issue is the POS software i have works on windows only and it doesn't support cash drawer or receipt printer, i'm forced to use a regular printer to print a big receipt and those printers won't support a cash drawer. I'm looking for an alternative option to open it via PC electronically and i have two options. First option is to buy a converter from RJ12 to USB and the second option is if my current printer have an option to open it when i print like a regular receipt printer.

The signal that opens a cash driver is 12 V impulse sent from the POS device to the cash drawer solenoid that releases lock and drawer opens.

You will hardly get a command from a laserjet M477 to generate that voltage on USB then convert it to RJ to open a cash drawer.
