The printer is stuck on initializing, sometimes the word 'Ready' appears for a split second but then goes back to initializing. It will not let you access the menu so I cannot apply a firmware update to see if that fixes it. I have tried a hard reset and a powerdrain. I see on other questions that relate to the same printer and problem that there is a private message sent with further steps. I would like to know these further steps please.

Hi @agvonline2,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I came across your post and wanted to assist you, I understand your HP Color LaserJet Printer is stuck on Initializing screen. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you,

Kudos to you for trying to figure out what needs to be done before posting your question in the HP forums?  You could actually try a few steps to see if this resolves the issue.

Since you have already tried performing a Hard reset on the printer as well as updating the firmware for some reason it's failing.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website

If the issue persists, I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Let me know if that helps. Thank you!

Cheers!
