hp laserjet 4000

hi , just wondering if there is generally anything more common for grinding on these? guy is far away only said it has been grinding for years. i know on the 4200 / 4250/ 4300/4350 the fuser and that swingplate gear was common. is the setup on the 4000 the same with the same swingplate gear? if i ordered a maintenance kit , would it come with an extra gear? thanks

Not the same. On this model if the issue is not the fuser most times it is the small white gear that drives the paper feed guide assembly. If that is the issue you will nust want to junk the printer as trying to repair is not just worth it. Suggest you do a google search for the service manual and look through it to see the areas where noise can be generated. Do not forget about the toner cartridge.

Real loud grinding noise is usually the swing-plate is worn out and needs to be replaced.  Part # RM1-0043.

Lever1 that part is not for this model. Post only when you are familar with the printer.
