I'm using the LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn printer. Every time I print, I get the message "Job sent to printer" obscuring the lower left corner of the desktop. I've turned off printer notifications (Windows 10) but the message persists. Does anyone know how I can turnoff this notice?

The popup is coming from the printing software or the driver, not Win10.  You need to turn off the right setting to hide the alert.

Try the driver first:

1. Navigate to Start > Search "Printers" > Select Printers & Scanners

2. Highlight your print queue and Click Manage

3. Click Printer Properties

4. Click the Device Settings Tab

5. Scroll down and look for an option called "Printer Status Notification" > Set to Disabled

6. Click Apply and test

If the problem persists then the notification is coming from the printing software installed by HP from the Full Software Solution.  You can either remove the extra software or attempt to open it up and review the notification options that it offers.  There should be a place for you to disable any notifications that application is responsible for.  For example if you installed the HP Toolbox, this app chats with the printer to popup toner cartridge warnings and whatnot.  You can disable the notification or just uninstall Toolbox if you do not use it for anything.

You can refer to this document if you happen to be using an HP Universal Print Driver:

I could not modify the driver. Under the device settings tab the Printer Status Notification is set to "Enabled". You can't change it in this window. I don't have any extra HP software installed.

Do you have any other suggestions?

If the option is greyed out then you are not the administrator of that print queue or driver.

If you are working with a print server then you will need to check the same properties from that end first.  The print server might be restricting users from making changes.  Otherwise try opening your Printers & Scanners area As Admin to see if you can make changes to the printer properties.

You could also try setting up a brand new queue as yourself with the print driver installation files.  If you set it up as yourself then you should be able to make the modifications necessary to turn off the notifications.
