Printer worked well for last 2 years but recently have changed toner cartridge 3 times and still have multiple dark, black horizontal lines that extend from edge to edge of paper.

@Charlie1932, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Follow the steps below to isolate and resolve the issue-

Check the paper type setting (Mac OS X)

Check the paper type setting if you are having any of the following problems:

  • On the File menu, click the Print option.
  • In the Printer menu, select this product.

  • In the Copies & Pages menu, click the Page Setup button.

  • Select a size from the Paper Size drop-down list, and then click the OK button.

  • Open the Finishing menu.

  • Select a type from the Media-type drop-down list.

  • Click the Print button.

Calibrate the product to align the colors

If the printed output has colored shadows, blurry graphics, or areas that have poor color, you might need to calibrate the product to align the colors. Print the diagnostics page from the Reports menu on the control panel to check the color alignment. If the blocks of color on that page are not aligned with each other, you need to calibrate the product.

  1. On the product control panel, open the System Setup menu.

  2. Open the Print Quality menu, and select the Color Calibration item.

  3. Select the Calibrate Now option.

Print a cleaning page

  1. From the Home screen, touch the Setup button.

  2. Touch the Service menu.

  3. Touch the Cleaning Page button.

  4. Load plain letter or A4 paper when you are prompted.

  5. Touch the OK button to begin the cleaning process.

The product prints the first side and then prompts you to remove the page from the output bin and reload it in Tray 1, keeping the same orientation. Wait until the process is complete. Discard the page that prints.

Try printing.

If you still have issues, refer to the document Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues for additional troubleshooting steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
