My HP laserJet M1212nf MFP is stuck on initializing.  I have Googled different fixes and tried them all.  I also download the latest driver but nothing is working.  Please help.

Hi @tannerja72

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

This issue is not related to the drivers. We will have to perform an NVRAM reset on the printer that may help.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

You will more than likely have to reload the firmware. There has been a large batch of printers lose their firmware over the last week and they are all stuck on "initializing" while it counts up, and HP released a bad batch of recent firmware upgrades as well.  My advice is to locate an older firmware release and flash the printer again.  Or, replace the formatter board with one that's working.
