Example: hp5100
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

We have an hp5100 laser printer.  Was making a lot of gear noise.  We replaced the main gear assembly after making sure we were purchasing the correct one from the company. (RG5-3543) The old one was in pretty tough shape..  We noticed a while after that that the problem started.  We really don't recall if the problem was happening before we installed the new part. If that part would be causing these issues, did the company recommend the wrong one and how do I find out what the correct part # for the 5100 would be.  I find it hard to believe that this part controls the images being reduced, maybe it controls the printing to one side if it is the wrong one... Been dealing with this issue for several months and no one seems to be able to figure it out.... Any ideas???? Thanks
