My printer has started "smearing" for lack of a better explanation. I've changed cartridges, run the cleaning option (twice) - what can I do to fix this?

If the toner is well bonded then it might be that you have something stuck to the hot roller of the fuser, left over label is a common issue. The challenge is on this design of printer it can be difficult to actually see the fuser to see if there is something stuck to it. I would also check all the cartridges for something stuck in one of them, remove them and inspect the bottom where the drum unit (blue/green cylinder on bottom) is to see if there is paper stuck or damage to any of the drums.

As this almost looks like a repetitive defect I would suggest that you have either a problem with the fuser or a problem with one of the cartridges. How well is the toner bonded to the paper in the defect areas?

The toner that is there is bonded well, but it’s not consistent like the rest of the page. Is the cider something I can replace?
