How can I find out which all-in-one printers currently available to purchase, use the ink cartridges # 74 & 75?

Hello billhocala

I went to the shopping.hp.com site and ran a search for the HP 74 Ink. One of the tabs is compatible printers. It does not seem any current printers use the ink. Did you current printer die? Or are you upgrading your printer?

#74 Ink (HP Store)

EDIT: One more thing. If you purchase another HP Printer you may contact HP and let them know you purchased a new printer, but still have some unused ink. You should be able to get them exchanged for ink matching your new printer.

Thanks for the info on the types of printers that use HP 74 & HP 75 ink. My printer has crashed and I'll have to go buy a new one. The info on calling the HP company to excange ink catridges was awsome. THANKS A MILLION,

I have the HP Photosmart D5300 which has been a wonderful printer.  For some reason it has stopped printing. I downloaded all latest drivers and software for this printer. I checked for the upgrades on my win xp and loaded all they had to offer. Nothing works. I borrowed a printer HP PSC 1510 connected it to computer and it works great. I need to get this D5360 working again. I have several print cartridges for it. What can you suggest for me. Thanks H3

hw3tnt1,

Are you getting any errors on the computer or lights/errors on the printer itself? Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:

It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

Best of Luck!

What hp printers use both the #74XL and #75 ink cartridges?  My printer just crashed and I got to get a new one.  I have just purchased new cartridges.

Hi Pgt,

I see that you're looking for printers that accept cartridge 74 and 75.  None of Hp current printers accept those cartridges.

What printer did you just purchase?

How many new cartridges do you have?

Hp may exchange the cartridges for you.

I have a similar problem.  My 5580 printer died in January right after I bought a large quantity of 74 and 75 ink cartridges.  I got by for a few months with an alternative printer but when I decided to replace the 5580 I found there were no new HP printers that accepted the 74 and 75 so I bought an HP printer that used the 564 ink.  I just emailed HP to ask if they could swap out the 74 and 75 cartridges for 564 ones and they said they could not help me!  So now I'm stuck and am not sure what to do with these cartridges.  I don't want to throw them away.  EBay may be my only option and I'll probably be lucky to get just a couple of bucks for each cartridge.  Live and learn.
