screen shows device error

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Laser jet is printing and copying... But after each page it prints it goes through a cleaning phase then shows a device error and i have to click ok for the next page to print.

This behavior has 2 common causes:

 

1. paper size set wrong so printer thinks it may have printed on blank spots where there was no paper so has to perform a cleaning to prevent toner build up.

2. The paper pickup is not happening on the first rotation of the pickup roller and so printer has to perform a cleaning because it thinks paper has misfed. If you hear the roller rotate several times before page is picked then likely the roller is worn or dirty.

its not either one of these issues.

i have checked paper size, correct, and cleaned the rollers.

it picks up fine
