Solid red light

As you do not state which light I will assume you mean the STATUS light. Solid red indicates either a open cover, no paper in the tray or a serious hardware failure. What was happening just before this started? Did you remove a paper jam, change a cartridge or access anything inside the printer? 

 

If you mean any other light is red, please post back with a detailed description and I will attempt to assist you further.

the ink cartridge lights on panel has the right one on even though these are basically new cartridges. It seems to be a contact problem.
