toner cartridge design changes

OK -- this is a kvetch rather than a question.  I have a Laser Jet Pro M402dn.  It ran out of toner for the first time, 1½ years after purchase.  So I unboxed a new CF226A cartridge, and spent a good couple of minutes looking for the pull tab (which pulled out the plastic over the toner reservoir slot). 

Please note, it has been several years since I replaced toner cartridges at work ... they all had the tab mentioned above. 

A little Googling, and I discovered that they're not designed like that.

My humble request is for a few words in the install instructions for those of us with older habits.
