voice call disconnects and "No Fax Detected" prints

Several times while I'm on a voice call, the person I'm talking to hears the fax sound, and then we get disconnected. My printer prints out a fax confirmation that says "No Fax Detected."  This has happened on two different occasions with one person I was talking to, and once with another person. Both have been businesses. The one where it happened twice is a business from which I have received a fax, and to whom I have sent a fax in the past. The other person I have never communicated with by fax. I don't care about getting the printout, but I don't want calls to disconnect. Thanks for any help.

Are you running your voice and fax on the same line? If so, you may need to set the fax to manual answer when you are in the office to prevent it from doing this.

Thanks for your answer. I just checked, and it's always been set on manual. Do you think I should try automatic?

So currently to receive a fax you have to press the ok button when you hear the fax sound on the line? It is possible that there is a glitch in the system and performing a factory reset might fix the problem.
