Where can I buy the clear mylar strip that goes under the automatic document feeder (ADF) to keep the paper from jamming and to protect the ADF glass strip on the left side of the printer?  My strip has had it and it creates lines when I scan to copy, fax or scan to PDF using the ADF feature.  Flatbed scans are clear.  I removed the clear mylar strip, trimmed the sticky edge and re-taped back a a little off- to move the rubbed out sections out of the way - fixed the vertical line problem but I would like to order replacements of this piece to change out when they get worn.  HP Chat says we can't buy anything for this printer because it's no longer made (big surprise); but it's a nice printer, and still expensive even used on Amazon, and why should i have to buy a whole new printer (landfills don't need this) when all I need is a clear plastic strip?

I came up with my own CHEAP solution - I got a clear tablet screen protector and used my paper cutter to cut a strip like the original clear strip on the printer, and placed in on that scanning section.  CLEAR copies again!  Yay!

I don't even know if they have a name - if someone knows the name of those strips, maybe I'll have better luck ordering from an online store - a compatible strip is fine if HP wont' sell me one.

That part is not currently available,  but will  be soon according to my contacts at HP. We have been pushing for this for months. I have the part number somewhere and will post on when I find it.

Thanks for this.  I hope your contacts are correct.  It's ridiculous to have this big a problem of such a small part.
