Quick question - we have a Studio X50 in our conference room.
We have a low power PC connected for content sharing during meetings.
However we have found that it struggles to present certain media.

We have an Apple TV.

Person A wants to plug the Apple TV into the Poly Studio X50 then share to the ATV from his new MacBook Pro (thus utilizing the MBP hardware to deliver good presentations).

However when attempting to share via our TC8 - the ATV display comes up for a second then blinks off. Rinse repeat forever.

My guess was an HDCP handshake. That you couldn't use the ATV connected to a Poly Studio for certain reasons, but I figured it probably wouldn't display at all if that was the case.

So - can you connect an Apple TV (newest model) to the input of a Poly Studio X50?

Thanks!

Hello @kilowattson

my guess would also be HDCP but as I do not own the product and have no way replicating this an official ticket would be needed for our Engineering Team to look at.

They may come back and state it is working as designed as our product already has Miracast and Airplay functionality.

A quick Google search >here< shows many similar posts as I assume this may be a new 4K HDMI requirement.

I believe there are hardware solutions but cannot recommend any of these due to these potentially violating HDCP.

Best Regards

Hello @kilowattson ,

Welcome back to the Poly community.

Some or a couple of your old post(s) or reply(s) to them => here <= are still open/pending as you have not marked these as "Accept as a solution" or at least provide some form of feedback or answer.

If they are in this state nobody finding them via a community search will know if an answer or advice provided was useful and has maybe helped you.

Could you therefore kindly go over them and mark or answer as appropriate?

If they are marked as "Accept as a solution" other users can find these easier and it helps them to utilise the community more efficiently. Please do not simply mark them without any type of feedback.

For your new issue, the Studio has AirPlay so I am unsure why you would need to introduce another device.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I went through and marked them as resolved.

It would still be nice to know why it's just blipping in and out (even if we just airplay directly to the Studio) from a purely IT point of view.
